SPECIMENS OF ANCIENT CORNISH CROSSES, FONTS, etc.
by F.C.Hingston (1850) edited by Ian McNeil Cooke
[ISBN 1-902792-00-5]
Published
in 1999 in A4 paperback format of 132 pages including 55 pages of black and
white line illustrations.
When only 17 years old the future Reverend Hingeston-Randolph (he had changed
his surname) made a collection of drawings of ancient Cornish stone crosses,
fonts and various aspects of church architecture. Although several articles on
old crosses had been previously published in periodical journals his book was
the first to make a prominent feature of crosses - several of which have since
been moved, lost or badly damaged.
